Requirements and Process

All drivers who apply to FLS are interviewed by our Recruiters and Driver Managers to make the best fit between the applicant and FLS. Additionally, all driver applicants must be approved by our Risk Management team before becoming eligible to receive work assignments.

FLS Basic Driver Requirements:

  • A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
  • A DOT medical card
  • At least one year (12 months) of verifiable driving experience with the equipment you will be operating within the past 7 years

For applicants with 12 months or more of experience:

  • Candidacy is based on a score derived from the Standard MVR, PSP Driver Out of Service Violations, and Prior Chargeable Accidents for the 36 months preceding the date of application.
  • To remain eligible, the maximum number of permissible events in the prior thirty-six (36) months is four (4) in any category.

FLS Driver Approval Process:

  • An application, screening, and telephone conversation with an FLS Recruiter

  • A road test and drug test

  • A File Review: Risk Managers review all documents and employment history

  • An Orientation: A Driver Manager will welcome you, provide you with online training, review all procedures, answer your questions and prepare you for dispatch

  • You are now ready to work with FLS
