DOT Compliance

DOT Regulations

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is the division of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that oversees and regulates many aspects of the trucking industry, including CDL drivers. Fundamental makes it our business to know and follow all DOT regulations that may impact our customers and drivers.

Additionally, Fundamental offers compliance solutions to help you understand and maintain your own drivers’ Driver Qualification (DQ) files. We can ensure you are in compliance with DOT regulations by reviewing your files, identifying areas of non-compliance, presenting our recommendations, and offering solutions to help you achieve and maintain compliance going forward.

Fundamental® Driver Study

The Driver Study includes a review of your current Driver Qualification files and forms. Our findings are presented in a written report detailing your compliance status in specific areas. The written report also provides guidance on how to remediate any deficient files or forms. Our clients often use the Driver Study to begin a formal compliance program or as a check to make sure their current program is running smoothly.

Fundamental® Forms

If a review of your Driver Qualification documents finds that some forms are missing or outdated, Fundamental can provide you with up-to-date, DOT compliant forms. You will receive an initial set of forms, and then updated documents if and when regulations change during your subscription period.

Fundamental® File Maintenance

Driver Qualification files are not a one-time responsibility; they must be continually maintained. Fundamental can monitor your drivers’ “expiration items” and alert you well in advance of when a document needs to be updated. Our proprietary tracking system takes the burden off of you while maintaining your DOT compliance.
